Dr. Mike what are your tips on getting high quality sleep? I go to bed and wake up at decent times (5:30am and 10:00pm,) so I don't know why I don't get quality sleep.

Let's make the comments section a place to have conversations. Starter Question: What is your favorite animal, and why? (My favorite animal is a dog. Dogs are friendly most of the time. Also, they are very loyal, energetic, and playful. I love dogs.)

you can disable the prey hunting instinct of a dog by a bullet to the right brain area.

Not running away is very, very important! Dogs have natural hunting instincts, that need to chase. If you stand your ground and don't look the dog directly in the eyes but without cowering and looking down is very important. You want it to know you're standing your ground but also not letting it be in control of you, running away and keeping your head down shows the dog it's in control. Even if you're scared, don't let it think it can have a go at you without you being ready to fight back. Head up, stand in place but eyes averted, maybe to its shoulder.

theres another way to protect yourself
if you death stare a dog and say no you will scare it but if its a dogo argentino or another extremely aggressive dog thenput your hands behind you back and start circling the dog

My aunt border collie, and my German shepherd started fighting. I was petting my dog (the German shepherd) and my aunts dog got scared, because he's scared of larger dogs, and he went went to attack The German shepherd, but got ahold of me instead, he grabbed my wrist and pulled, I had no idea what to do at the moment so I just got my parents beer bottle and threw it. The border collie got distracted immediately, but came straight back to me, all of a sudden before the collie could reach me, I saw my german shepherd on top of him pinning the dog down, I quickly grabbed water bottle and threw it at the back door(my family was outside talking about personal stuff) and got their attention, they came running in, and my uncle grabbed the border collie and my dad grabbed my german shepherd. My uncle pinned the border collie down, until he stopped trying to escape. And my dad took my dog and put him in the garage. Afterwards my aunt took her dog back to her house, and my uncle took my dog to his house, to watch him while I went to the hospital. Came out with a Broken wrist and a broken finger. Both dogs are okay aswell. But That is the last time I will be with any dog alone and that is for a fact...

I wouldn't recomend an air horn, out of all things. Loud noises like that can make a dog very afraid of loud noises in general. That's even worse, and will cause severe stress and trauma to the dog, or any animal.

That woman...I think she's 1: Not giving her golden enough brain exercise. Or 2: She's abusing the dog, and that's why the dog attacks her. Or 3: It could be that her golden doesn't like going to the dog park, and therefore doesn't trust her, she may not know what signs to look for in her dog to show that he or she doesn't like it there. From what my teacher has said during dog classes (She's a dog trainer) a dog whos owner doesn't take the dog away from a stressful situation, may in return become aggressive.

A well trained golden would ignore the bigger dog. Any well trained dog would. A dog who trusts their owner wouldn't bite their owner like that.

My dog got attacked at a dog park because she's scared of other dogs and she growled at this dog and it just set the dog off and all my dog did was put her head on the ground and the owner of this dog noticed what was happening and he just grabbed his dog off of my dog, luckily my dog was okay but that was not the first time she's been attacked. The reason she's scared of other dogs is because she's been attacked multiple times, and she got bit recently by our neighbours dog, I understand her fear, btw her name is Rinn (like green without the G)

After a dog fight OR if you are helping someone who is being attacked always have someone else check you over for bites, you won't always know you were bit. Also take a white towel and if it is safe wipe both dogs down to find hidden punctures. Also NEVER pull two dogs apart when they are latched on, the tearing can be more damaging than the punctures, this also goes for if a dog is latched onto a person. Know that the stress from a dogfight can last for 3 days or more so give your dog (and yourself) time to recover before reintroducing them back to other dogs.

He didn't like kids except for the ones in his own family, and I had been told that so I've always stayed away from him, not sure why he decided to lunge at me that day though and tbh I don't really remember what actually happened, I just remember him lunging at me and until today I'm a bit cautious around some dogs (especially bigger ones), which for me is kind of sad since I love dogs and all kinds of animals 😕

I did grab our hose and blast water all into and on their faces, (her Shepherd was not wanting to release, was continually going back as soon as we broke them apart) but she finally got a good grip and made a noose with the dog leash and pulled her dog away. Neither of us got bit though.

Best thing to do is stand tall, and if you can throw pebbles, great. If not, pretend like you're about to start throwing something at them, they'll back off. I live on a street filled with street dogs, and my pup does NOT socialize with other dogs. We have to keep her on a leash when we take her to meet other dogs and let her choose which dog she can tolerate being around enough not to bite. Plus, packing goodie bags with treats and making your dog watch the other dogs do basic commands to you kinda helps, it sort of assures them that you're still the alpha dog and are safe in the presence of other dogs. I feel most pets get aggressive when they feel their parents are being threatened.
