More Information:
America has been pioneers of candy and confectionery for quite some time! So much so, that we thought it would be fun to dish out candy, some as far back as the early 1900s, to see what our lovely Irish people thought!

I was born and raised in the UK and live in America, I can safely say American candy is pretty poor in comparison to what I grew up with.
"Once upon a time there was an engineer, Choo-choo Charlie was his name we hear. He had an engine and he sure had fun, he used Good & Plenty candy to make his train run... Charlie says: "Love my Good & Plenty." Charlie says: "Really rings a bell." Charlie says: "Love my Good & Plenty, don't know any other candy that I love so well.""
I love good and plenty.

I remember being a desperate child and trying to eat the candy part off of good n plenties. Ugh.
They should have explained they come in those boxes because they're sold in movie theaters.
Dumdums are the only decent candy there. There are even other packages with different flavors, like s'mores.
BlowPops are amazing!! And Tootsie Pops are even better!!!!! Giant Nerd.....they are so the best!!!
necco is good
What is up with all the candy from the 40s to the 70s
John and Seán cannot keep things in their hands they are a mess XD
Lol where do they dig up these American products, sounds like really old movie theater candy.
Caramels, peppermint candy, Hershey's chocolate bars, M + M's. Heath bars (toffee), etc. NOT the one's they are trying. Not typical.
Why did you give them the shit candy that nobody here ever eats. You only ecer see that garbage in the bargain bin at wal mart and in the pile of shit your kids throw out of their trick or treat bag at halloween.
“Beanuts”.. that’s it, time to declare war on Ireland!!!!
They literally gave you the worst candy we have and yes those are from the 50’s
God, yes. Though they are lucky they didn't get any Raisinets. *hurl* They need Junior Mints, Red Vines, Milk Duds and Sugar Babies. The last to occasionally be eaten with a mouthful of popcorn.
Yeah! 1850's!
I loved Necco’s (I am weird). I think the best way to explain the taste is a piece of chalk that has a hint of artificial flavoring
My family can put back a box of good & plenty right quick
Meh the first one yuck 🤢 good and plenty nooo nasty necco wafers are old people candies. Ohh yess dumb dumbs are like even at the banks lol Halloween candy haha they are so good .yasss Boston bakes bean are so good I just bought two boxes last night and no they can’t lol
Well now I know where this candy goes, we ship it off to unsuspecting foreigners.
I don't know anyone here in America who likes Good and Plenty, them damn things is nasty lmaooo they bogus for giving y'all those 🤣🤣🤣
Were those NECOs? Fun from the Civil War! And by fun I mean nasty
Laughing. Someone sent them the worst candy EVER! I wouldnt eat that stuff when I was a kid, and I ate just about anything.
I realize this was called "Classic" American Candy but it should have been called Really Fucking Old candy.
Good & Plenty - From 1883
Necco Wafers - From 1847
Dum Dums - From 1924
Boston Baked Beans - From the early 1930's
The most recent candy was from almost 90 years ago! No wonder they weren't crazy about the candy.
Who is the fucking shit for brains who selects the worst fucking candy to give these people? I think they do this on purpose just for them to hate it. Fuck it, I'm done with this shit channel.
Actually they invite viewers to send in selections so it was probably an evil American that did this. Off with their head!
the neckos and boston baked beans was a favorite in the 70,s
“If you got a dog you put A lead on it” I’m rolling 😂😂
These are all the candies of my 1950s childhood. The necco wafers were (are) rather chalky. Love Good & Plenty.
I'm American and I like 3/5 of these
It's ok , your right those are not popular candies. Out of all those candies, I only like the dum dums
I live half an hour from the factory where they make the Dum Dum suckers (lollys). It is in the state of Ohio
C'mon now! You gave them some of the nastiest candies we make.
No Hot Tamales, no Milk Duds, no Snickers, no Woppers... So many better choices.
If someone gives you those candies, it's because the fucking hate you ! They're disgusting😝
Not many Americans like those candies. Why did they pick that assortment?
Ewwww...most Americans hate those candies. Try skittles, sour skittles, sweet and sours, peach rings...those kind of things
14 degrees I guess that is centigrade not farenheit it it is farenheit tou would be freezing to death
What about tootie rool, Hershey kiss, bottle caps, smarties, Hershey chocolate bars, buzuka bubble gum, life savers and what about tootie roll pop
I love Necco Wafers! I grew up on them as a special Sunday treat.
I was raised in this great country and the only one of those nasty candies I ever liked were the Dum Dums😂 I'm only 38 years old but surely there were better choices that could have been picked LOL.
I'm American. Of all these, I only like dum dums. The rest are just not worth the calories.
I actually really like Boston baked beans. Would get them for 25 cents.
Truth! Yep jujus pulled your fillings right out of your teeth 😫
The candy in boxes is from the theater. That's so the wrapper doesn't make noise.
I've never had any of these candies, except for the dum dum pops. Also why are the candies in the boxes without the plastic bags?? I've seen candies in boxes like these, but they were in a little plastic bag that was inside the box, it wasn't just inside a cardboard box. I wouldn't imagine that would taste very good. So im thinking these candies were probably very old to start with? Im American, but I've never even heard of the Boston Bean's one or the Good and Plenty one.
"You have a dog, you put it on a leash!!"
We actually use boston baked beans for slingshot ammo
WHO THE FUCK EATS NECCO WAFERS? ILL BREAK THEIR GODDAM KNEECAPS
Honestly, we don't understand NECCO wafers either.
Definitely some great American classics of candy here. But not all the candy from the '80s.
