I started my uni at 29. The hard part is there are lots of teenagers around you which makes you feel much older 😂

This video is so inspiring. As a nurse for 10+ years thinking its too late for me sounds like an excuse after watching this. Thank you Dr. Espina for sharing your hardships and reminding my generation that it's never too late and to conquer FEAR overall

To be fair though, "that you would have to kill me to make me quit", is the same for me and some of my peers are age 23 as it is for age 37. Even though you are already with a family and now have a singular goal doesn't necessarily mean your drive and passion exceeds that of younger aged people. I've seen this as a recurring theme amongst older applicants with the connotation that younger ones "don't have life experience" or "don't have the drive" or "don't really know for sure what they want to do". Which in my opinion simply just isn't true.

Dr. Espina, I'm an Indian lawyer and i truly feel what you said here.... the more we study the more we realise how little we really know. We constantly need to read and study to update ourselves on the latest amendments. Being an engineer and a doctor!!! Hats off to you.....like Dr. Mike, i too would have loved to interact with you. Just knowing how your mind works. I had met another lawyer once who used to be a civil engineer earlier and had decided to become a lawyer just like that..... you're a really intriguing guy! Thanks Dr. Mike, for introducing him to us! Oh, i must also mention that I'm a brain tumour patient (still recovering), am 36 years old now and had to take a break from active litigation practice for a few years now due to this illness. But I'm determined to get back into the game when I'm fit enough.... you have really inspired me that it's not over yet for me. So, thank you for that!

Wow. He is definitely a driven man. My dad says that successful people find ways to achieve their goals. They work hard and overcome obstacles.
Unsuccessful people find excuses in why they can't do what they seem it's impossible. Like Doc brown told Marty McFly, "if you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything thing".
Even starting a new career at a later time in life.
"Don't ever judge a book by its cover"- well said.

His honesty is sooooo helpful and refreshing.
pros: being more empathetic than younger peers, life experience, living your passion
cons: fear, there's more pressure to succeed , ageism, med school is expensive

I admire people like you. thank you for sharing your story !

When I moved to the US, I was able to afford exam preparation material and courses but as time went by it became harder, so I had to stop. I still miss it. Thank you for sharing.
