Smoking bone, That's the issue
I've read that it's likely myositis ossificans which when bone tissue forms inside of the muscle or soft tissue area of muscle that's been recently injured and trying to heal. It's nthn that requires surgery. The original MRI showed a calf strain so there was an injury to that area and the condition like came about while it was healing. They've likely been treating him for the wrong injury for a while now which is why he's experiencing pain, and the pain isn't directly in his calf anymore.

I'm a Colts fan, but if Andrew Luck can't play this year and stay healthy in subsequent years we need to look into a trade and a new QB. I like Luck a lot, but the dude is injury prone. Every year it's something new with this guy. We have a good young team and we need a good QB that stays healthy over the next 5-8 years if we plan on getting to the SB. It's sad cause Luck has enough talent to be among the best QB's.
Brett H I agree. As a Chiefs fan, we went through 3years of Eric Berry not playing, but taking up a roster spot in the 53. After awhile it becomes apparent that a guy probably can’t do it anymore. I hope he recovers, as he’s a QB I’ve always pulled for, as much as I personally dislike the Colts 😉
They finally, after the last few years, got their o-line squared away but it might be too late. The damage has been done and he’s not getting any younger.

Marquizes Turner Yeah, I wouldn’t call him injury prone. This is really unfortunate though. When you draft a 1st round QB, you hope he’ll be good. If he is, you pray he can stay healthy. It’s always tough when top players are hurt. It’s difficult to know how much time to spend hoping they’ll come back or wondering if you should start thinking about drafting their replacement.
He literally only been hurt one time and got late surgery which took long to heal which resulted in him missing so much time i wouldn’t say injury prone. Injury prone is being hurt 5 x in 5 years missing games close to every year can’t really call him injury prone plus this regular season hasn’t even started lol

Jacoby has gotten a lot of reps and looks better than ever. If it's a quick surgery fix, I say they should do it and Luck comes back mid-late season. Otherwise you have a hurt qb who won't be performing at 100%. A superstar qb who is hurt isn't a superstar. Rodgers showed everyone that last year.
He might look good but in reality he's not an nfl qb thats good enough to start either way.

The colts are ruining his career. He needa to leave. Peyton went to Super bowls in 4 years with the Broncos. It took the colts 14 to do the same. Imagine Peytons career had he played for the Broncos his whole career. The colts destroy careers, thats why Elway refused to go there.
