Water cooling is better for transporting PCs? as opposed to taking 2mins each end to remove/reinstall the air cooler?

I have a full custom build water cooled pc from 2017, it looks nice, yes. But it’s too inconvenient. I’ll probably never use watercooling again

If my CPU ever hit 80 C, I'd go into full panic mode, unplug it and dump ice water on the CPU. I have my fans set to keep the CPU at or below 55 C. I repair PCs and have seen too many melted parts or parts that failed 5 minutes after the warranty ran out because they were run at high temps.

A lot of people gave thumbs down, they must have AIO's and think your wrong as a result. But I'm glad I have a NH-15D even before I seen this video. I can turn off the 2X140mm fans and still not hit 50C.

You have to consider the length of pipe the heat has to travel to get to the radiator

you forgot with WC even in a case of pump failure typically there is still enough capability to abssorb heat that a cpu wont fry.. I know from personal exp.. wayyyyy back on one of the first WC systems avail (the BIG pomp module type if u remember that was about 2" tall) .. and the pwr to the pump was incorrectly hooked in on a system (fan header plug was used instead of direct power which was insufficient for the pump).. cpu still worked w/o big issues and actually wasn't even throttling much surprisingly.

Ironically that same AIO is still on a slave system in my lab working away 24/7 almost i think 8 or 9 yrs later.... and only thing i did was pitch the crap oem fan and slapped on an Arctic 120mm instead..

Water cooling has always felt like horrible idea to me. I have never built a water cooled PC. If I ever do any form of liquid cooling I use a liquid that is not electricity conductive.

I guess the results you get must be due to the fact that technically they are both "air cooled." The water cooling only transfers the heat to a radiator which still has a fan. The only difference would be the medium that the heat transfers through to get to the fans. The metal pipes on the cheaper cooler must have a higher thermal conductivity than the water and not to mention the fan is much closer to the heat source and the heat can be dissapated much faster. Now that I think about it it's shocking that the water cooling held up so well.

And then I come in with some even beefier Noctua with two radiators and two fans (R-F-R-F) moving 140 m^2. That plus Ryzen 7 has never let me down, cold and fast.

If your GPU runs really hot, the air rises into it, whereas a watercooler can get fresh air. You should've added a test where you had GPU load also.
