Linus, you can get brand new radiators from Amazon. I've seriously considered doing it to heat the house, but you wouldn't have to worry about the dirty gunk, and they are actually not built as rigid as the antique ones, which I think will be a positive in this case, since it will radiate quicker than the thicker antique version.

in high school we would save milk in our lockers for a month till it got nasty, and then poured it on the radiator in the bathroom. It made half the school building smell like death

Why not buy new radiator rather than used one? Oh right... It would be cheaper to buy classic water cooling.
And I sure could use this kind of heating, since I can't live without noise of my computer even when sleeping and temps in my room are barely 10C different from what is outside. And with -10C atm I have my cold drinks in room freezing. :)

So as a plumber this is a fail. The gunk from the radiator clogged your GPU... But that's not all that water pump cools itself from flow, no flow= heat. Should have used a stronger acid to clean the radiator. And used no black iron pipe or fittings. Copper. Copper should have been used. Or pex. Cool that you tried it though. You should get with a good plumber and redo this. Someone who's certified with boilers.

actually linus, even the kinetic energy to spin your fans and the light emitted by your leds ultimatly ends up at aditional heat energy...... (through various conversion chains)
as heat is the form of energy all others convert into at some point and it is not possible to convert heat into other forms efficiently.... (thats why there will be a heat death of the universe probably at some point in the far off future)

I think it would be interesting to see if you could revisit this idea, from more practical point of view. I'm wondering if a person could "practically" place a radiator inside there room, and perhaps a radiator outside of window, could you use your computer as your soul heating and cooling system? Can you use the thermal Mass of a giant cooling system for your computer to moderate your personal living conditions?

Otherwise it keeps warm and doesn't get rid of it. That's why I propose an aluminum radiator it have different heat spec, best will be a car radiator with fan is designed to get rid of heat. Fan works at 12v but needs something about 580w.
Second thing you can use instead cast iron radiator is water air heater is almost same as car radiator. Good luck LTT
